Cut from cashmere with a soft brushed finish, this overshirt has the depth of color only a napped cloth can give: a navy so dark it reads almost as ink, shifting gently as the light moves across it. The hand is dense and warm, and it softens further with wear.
The shape is taken from the classic workwear shirt and refined. Two flap pockets sit clean on the chest, the collar is neat enough to wear closed, and the front fastens with dark enameled buttons, each ringed in a fine line of gold. Button cuffs and a straight hem keep it sharp.
It is the layer for the months in between. Wear it over a fine knit or an open-collar shirt in place of a jacket, or under a coat when the cold sets in. It is as right for a flight or a weekend drive as for dinner in the city.
